Official Statement in support of Fátima Bosch and the dignity of women
Miss Universe has always been more than a stage, a crown, or a competition. At its heart, it is a global community of women: women from different countries, cultures, and generations who have found in this platform an opportunity to be seen, to be heard, and to use their voices with purpose.
Today, we raise those voices together.
Violence, intimidation, humiliation, disrespect, and mistreatment of women, in any of their forms, are unacceptable. No woman should ever feel that she must remain silent to protect an opportunity, a position, a title, or a dream.
When Fátima Bosch raised her voice in defense of her dignity following the treatment she experienced from Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, she reminded women everywhere of something fundamental: respect is not something we earn through silence. It is a right.
